    January 29.      Deadline to apply for a Mail-In Ballot by Mail for Special Primary Election

    January 29       February 3. Early Voting Period

    February 4       Deadline for In-Person Mail-In Ballot Applications for Special Primary Election

    NJ Senate has 40 seats. Current Senate: 25 Dem, 15 Rep

    To become a Senator, an individual must be 30 years old, must have lived in their district for two years and the state for four years, and again must live in the represented district.

    Current Senate:  25 Dem, 15 Rep

    District 9 Senate Seat is held by Carmen Amato (Republican incumbent - not up for reelection in 2025)

    NJ Assembly has 80 seats. Current Assembly 55 Dem, 25 Rep 

    To become a member of the Assembly, an individual must be at least 21 years old, must have resided in their district for one year and the state for two years, and must live in the represented district.

    Ocean County is part of two legislative districts (there are 40 districts total)

    The 9th legislative district overlaps with New Jersey's 2nd and New Jersey's 4th congressional districts.

    Candidates in 2025 for the 9th legislative district are:

    The 10th  legislative district is entirely within New Jersey's 4th congressional district
